This fall was nice and warm but somehow in one week temperatures dropped down, and now is very chill and unpleasant outside. Probably, it is a good time to switch my skincare to more comforting and nourishing textures, protecting face from cold weather and typical seasonal dryness.

Not everything is going to be changed. Some stuff, like cleansing micellar water is with me forever. It is my favorite method of skin cleansing (I use it for more than 15 years), and it is the best for me. Only brands of micellar water are in rotation, and they are mostly from French pharmacy like Avene, Vichy, La Roche Posay, Uriage, etc.  Sometimes I’m trying natural companies,  but still didn’t find there a good micellar product. I decided to give a chance to Korean producers. So next micellar water should be from Sephora K-Beauty range, maybe, Neogen Dermatology or Belief.

Same to toners, mists, hydrosols. I use them all year around, just change the type.

Right now I’m in between KHUS+KHUS Sans Age hydrolat (post here)/Divine Essence Immortelle+Lavander Hydrolat (Ecocert certified Quebec company) for morning and Evanhealy Sandalwood Hydrosol for evening.

The Sandalwood hydrosol’s scent is absolutely astonishing! It is so woody, smells like smoky cedar wood and reminds me late fall forest with bunches of dry leaves and branches under the feet. Sans Age and  Immortelle hydrolats both are based on immortelle which is quite dominant in oflactory pyramids. I can describe their aromas like dry or sun dry prairie herbs with a little addition of dark rye bread note. This type of scent is so comforting me! All three hydrosols-hydrolats I use in cooperation with ionic, mineral packed Graydon Face Food Mineral Mist (from October Art of Organics Box)..

They all are doing really good synergistic work together! Hydrosols are refreshing, hydrating, lifting mood, relaxing mimic, improving microcirculation, then Mineral Mist is nourishing, rejuvenating and even healing the skin!

My winter addition to the cleansing routine is a gentle everyday exfoliation. For this purpose I use new Sephora’s  K-Beauty find – The Beauty Water. This product is really smart, multi-purpose, full of botanicals, and easy to use. Just light sweep across the face with moisten pad  is enough to complete the cleansing process, gently exfoliate the upper layer of epidermis and increase efficiency of next step skincare.

Now to the treats. Serums, oily or not, is a must-have for me. Anytime! During cold season I prefer rich textures  and serums based on oils. I still like  Mel Millis Phytonutri Rose & Pomegranate Rebalance face oil but in purpose to try something new I like to switch it with sample of  my new find TerreVerdi FranChouliPom facial serum. They both are with strong antioxidant argan and pomegranate oils while Mel Millis is a little bit lighter and smell more fruity-rosy. TerreVerdi FranChouliPom is richer by texture, slightly heavier but not sticky at all, and the smell is more stronger, oriental and warming with accords of patchouli  and frankincense. Both products are pretty good for my skin, and I like them a lot! In order to give my morning serums more anti-aging and antioxidant power I mix them with small amount of Madara Cellular Repair Serum (from this set). It is fresh smelling, light and greenish emulsion promissing to lift up, fight ageing and increase collagen repair functions. Hope, it is working.

My favorite evening serum-oil  Laurel Sun Damage Repair Serum (details here) could be good for winter however I’ve decided to use a twist between TerreVerdi FranChouliPom facial serum  and  super calming KHUS+KHUS Sans Age serum. Sans Age is absolute winter must-have for sensitive and redness-prone skin! It is based on soothing blue essential oils of german chamomile, blue tansy, yarrow and immortelle and smells heavenly. You can read more about blue line of KHUS+KHUS here.

Recently I received one more serum from KHUS+KHUS – their very new SEN face serum. This product is suitable for any skin type but mostly for dry and mature. The base here is hemp oil and CBD (extract of cannabis flowers), very nutritious, protecting and rich in omega fatty acids. It is a great choice for winter day time! I’ve alredy started to use it and I really, really how it works.

When real winter will come one more serum-oil  should be included into my regular care routine. It is Antipodes Chia & Kiwi Seed Superfood Serum with very minimalist list of ingredients: chia oil, kiwi seed oil, essential oils of jasmine and ylang and natural preservatives. Chia oil is rich in omegas, while kiwi seed oil has strong antioxidant power and it is very suitable for eye area. I’ll use it all over the face and neck covering eye area too.

For the eyes and skin around I’m already using two products: Bottega Organica Illuminate Eye Cream and SkinOwl Eye+. Bottega Eye Cream I received with October Beauty Heroes Box and found it perfectly matching fall-winter time. It is very nutrient and comforting product with great antioxidant properties. The texture is nice, not greasy, remind me a whipping butter but lighter and with good absorbing properties. I don’t see any wrinkle-decreasing results yet but generally my eye area looks fresh, supply and toned. Every morning I mix this cream with very light but super moisturizing SkinOwl Eye+ which is actually a gel and looks like typical jelly (here you can read more about EYE+). It is a pure humectant and it prevent delicate eye area from winter dryness. Bottega Organica cream works here as a moisture locker, skin emollient and protector. And for the night Illuminate Cream is going solo over sprayed by one of face mist skin. It’s just enough!

I didn’t decide which skin cream I’ll use during the cold period because I have few to try. Now I’m wavering between Aurelia Cell Revitalize Day Moisturizer (again from this box) and generous sample of TerreVerdi Argan Shea Multi Cream. Both are multi-functional, full of good ingredients, anti-aging and nourishing. TerreVerdi cream has some comfort, cocooning texture, it is more solid and firmer. Aurelia, from other side, is lighter, easier, and very good penetrating. I think to swing between these two creams and use them according to weather conditions.

Of course, I don’t forget my neck and decollete area. All described products and routines are working for this important area too. This month with  current Art of Organics Box I received a new neck product which I wanted so badly – NECK+ (post here), and soon I will use it with super nurishing Weleda Skin Food – my neck favorite for many years. My neck should be happy!
